Synopsis: "Take My Word" is a short film set in present-day Paterson, NJ, following Halaa, an 18-year-old who works at her father’s pharmacy alongside her judgmental cousin and her cousin’s husband.  When tensions rise between Halaa and her father, she goes outside where she witnesses a grotesque creature mutilate a cat in the alley behind the pharmacy. Despite attempts to convince her family of the creature's existence, Halaa’s first-hand experience is quickly dismissed. Feeling alone and ignored, Halaa endeavors on a journey to prove the truth while facing overwhelming skepticism and growing isolation from her father and loved ones.
