LOGLINE -- Ibrahim, a young Syrian refugee who has spent the past three years in America, is burdened with the unrealistic hopes of his parents, who’s only dreams are to go back home.

CHARACTERS --

IBRAHIM

Ibrahim, a young Syrian refugee in his early 20s, is just trying to make the most of his new life in the small American city of Clarkston, Georgia. Despite being in Clarkston for the past three years, Ibrahim still deals with his parent's never-ending grievances about going back home. Everything in the house reminds him of home: the news, the boxes of expensive kitchenware that his parents want to bring back home, the gifts for family overseas. All he wants? A normal life, just like any other kid his age.

WALEED

Waleed, Ibrahim's father, is hard-working and strategic. All he wants is to die in the country that raised him. His son, however, wants the complete opposite. Their relationship is tense, but Waleed's intentions are pure. Who wouldn't want to go back home? Everyone he knows and loves is in Syria. The tomatoes aren't watery. What else could you ask for? He chooses to ignore one important point, however: Syria is a war zone. One he and his family just barely escaped.

SAFA

Safa is your typical Syrian stay-at-home mom. She can cook, clean and talk your ear off. Safa dreams of simple things, like going back home and re-tiling the bathroom. Just like her husband, Waleed, Safa refuses to accept that their new home isn't just a temporary fix. She loves her son with all her heart, and just wants what is best for him: any and everything Syrian.

BROTHER AHMED

Brother Ahmad is the owner of the restaurant that Ibrahim works at. He is solely focused on the success of his restaurant, so he may seem standoffish. He has a soft spot for Ibrahim, however, as he reminds him of himself years ago. Brother Ahmad's daughter, Amal, is the girl of Ibrahim's dreams.
