Project Title: Then You Should Live

Logline: After finding out that his mother died in Gaza a man has a near death experience that allows him to say a final goodbye to her in a dream-like world.

Characters:

Mahmoud -- 25 to 35 years old, Middle Eastern man. Mahmoud is a very quiet man who lives a solitary life in the United States and has type one diabetes. He hails from a refugee camp in Gaza. His family supported his move to the United States; however, he feels guilty about leaving his family behind. In this story, Mahmoud struggles with the news that his mother has died in a bombing. He loses his will to live, and after falling into a coma due to insulin withdrawal, he must decide whether or not he can keep on going. LEAD

Hanan — 40 to 60 years old, Middle Eastern woman. Mahmoud's mother. She is a peaceful and loving mother who wishes for nothing but the best for her son. SUPPORTING
