Synopsis
Unbeknownst to her Kabul neighbors, Shabnam Kapur works as a translator for the United States Military, just as the Afghan state dissolves, August 15, 2021.
With her location known, she prepares for an evacuation that brings her meet staples of her life and culture: a Kabul bookseller preparing to pack up for Pakistan, a chain-smoking taxi-driver willing to volunteer on a dangerous mission to the city’s interior.
Interwoven with the Afghan narrative is the story of Special Operations’ Jon Tyler, from within the United States compound in Kabul.
Doomsday farewells are given to the Afghan special operators, just as Jon forms a midnight decision and plan for rescue; revealed only to his closest confidant.

She engages in short dialogues with local Afghan elders in the language of Dari (close to Farsi), as well as narrates the film through voice over in English.

Afghan Special Operations Kad: $500+
Kad is Jon Tyler’s training partner, as well as close ally. He must delivers hard, emotional truth to Jon Tyler, that stirs him into action.
Looking for Afghan/Iranian/Persian descent, but will only deliver lines in English.

The Kabul Bookseller: $500
An important staple of Afghan culture, the fatherly Kabul bookseller is there as a mentor to assist Shabnam on her journey.

Kabul Taxi Driver: $500
The taxi driver is stern and savvy, negotiating tough with Shabnam, but eventually agreeing to her dangerous journey.
