AFI Casting

[BASSIM EJDER] MALE. 50s. Turkish/Middle Eastern. Bassim hails from an ultra-conservative upbringing which has taught him to uphold archaic traditions and views which strip away the freedom of choice with the females within that society. Tragically, this stretches to his two daughters. An undefeated chess prodigy, Bassim, through this reunion with his estranged daughter, is presented with a painful reality check of what awaits his youngest daughter should he proceed with her forced arranged marriage. He battles a moral tension to either fulfil the needs of the individual versus the needs of the society. A KNOWLEDGE OF CHESS ISN'T REQUIRED.
