L.A. Egyptian Actors needed

RA Vision Productions, Inc. is looking for union or non-union actors for their upcoming production of Kalam, Safha we astika. This short narrative Egyptian comedy film is meant as an allegory to inspire female Arab writers to pick up their sword (pen) be inspired and write. The filming takes place mostly in one location in Garden grove/Los Angeles at a book store as a one day nightmare in the life of a bookstore clerk. We are filming either in Mid May or Mid June. This is a non-paid commitment for three evenings or two full days and some rehearsal time. Credit, IMDB listing, meals and a private link to the film will be provided. The festival circuit and digital distribution will be our ultimate goal. MUST speak AND read Egyptian Arabic fluently. The script is written mostly in the Egyptian Arabic slang with some classical Arabic poetry and lines as well. Please do NOT apply if you don’t have that Egyptian slang in you, natives preferred. This is a great chance to work with award-winning writer/director Raouf Zaki and a fantastic professional cast/crew. Check out our previous films at We are looking to cast the following characters: Maha (lead) Egyptian 30’s-40’s Book store clerk whose life and writing dreams were broken. She is witty, sharp-tongued, passionate with hidden creativity that needs a kickstart. Soha (main character) Egyptian 20’s - 30’s: dreamy, beautiful, elegant, poetic, real feminine, adamant, knows what she wants and asks for it with no regrets. It is a colorful character who speaks in broken Arabic mixed with some English. Ostaz William: Egyptian Man in his 60’s, comedic, must be comfortable with sketch-like moves and some tasteful bedroom humor (no nudity) Madame Angel: Egyptian woman in her 50’s, tough as nails, she’s the boss, must be comfortable with some tasteful bedroom humor (no nudity) Please send resume, headshot and link to reel (preferable) to and make sure to cc producer Mico Saad If asked to audition/self-tape you will be sent an email with the character sides from Mico.
