HOLLYWOOD Arab Actor is Breaking Stereotypes

He plays an Arab prisoner who becomes part of a 500-person centipede and shares an unforgettable scene with Eric Roberts. He was also the second lead in the feature film Mobster. SAG-AFTRA actor and voiceover artist, Hamzah Saman, is smashing stereotypes for Arab American and Arab actors. As an up-and-coming actor, Saman just debuted, in Tom Six’s horror film, The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence) as inmate 093.

In addition, Hamzah Saman recently worked as a voiceover artist on the films Escape Plan and X-Men: Days of Future Past. Saman is one of the first online Arab American Casting directors with over 20, 000 members. Saman recently finished working as a casting associate on the documentary He Named Me Malala with the Oscar-winning director, Davis Gugenheim. He has also been working on the television show Nessyane, as the production manager and casting director.  This show stars Rima Fakih who was Miss USA 2010.

Saman wants writers and filmmakers to consider expanding roles for Arab and Middle Eastern actors. He said, “Many Arab and Middle Eastern actors are cast into terrorist roles. While many of us are happy to take these types of jobs, we are also excited to audition for other roles to demonstrate the range of our skills.” Saman noted that his goal is to change the perception of Arab artists in Hollywood. He is currently represented by AMW Talent Agency .
