Story line: 10,000 Balconies project- a new piece loosely inspired by Romeo and Juliet and set in Damascus, Syria. It uses poetry, music, imagery, and cultural-gestures to bring the story of love and loss. The project is supported by a generous grant from the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art, and is taking place at TheatreSquared in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The piece is driven by poetry, music, rituals and imagery, and the workshop will continue to focus on devising and developing the show with the cast and creative team.
