Rehearsal & Shoot rate: $125 per day (payment is NOT deferred)

Usage: This short will be submitted to festivals, and is a proof of concept for a feature film. Talent cast will be considered for the feature film, but production cannot guarantee they will be cast again.

A lonely immigrant selling counterfeit designer bags on the streets of Los Angeles, attempts to buy the woman he loves an authentic bag, only to be pulled into the trap of the American Dream.

Seeking (LA Local Hires Only)

[JU]. 20s to 60s. Female. Asian. Open to Chinese, Japanese, and Korean talent who speak one of these languages fluently. Open to all physiques. Ju is a tourist who is enjoying Los Angeles and surfs Azat’s showroom for a (counterfeit) bag. She does not speak English and has Chen act as her translator. SUPPORTING. Shoots 1 or 2 days.

[MS. WASHINGTON]. 20s to 50s. Female. African, African American, Filipino, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Mixed Ethnicity, Native American Indian, Indian. Open to all physiques. Warm, approachable, invested in her job. Ms. Washington teaches English as a second language at a local community college. Azat and Lana are in her class. SUPPORTING. Shoots 1 day.

[GABRIEL or GABRIELA]. 30s to 80s. Male or Female. Hispanic or Latin. Open to all physiques. Isolated. No longer living, just existing day to day. Gabriel/a sells scarves. SUPPORTING. Shoots 1 day.

[CHEN]. 20s to 60s. Male. Asian. Open to Chinese, Japanese, and Korean talent who speak one of these languages fluently. Open to all physiques. Chen is a tourist who is enjoying Los Angeles and surf’s Azat’s showroom for a (counterfeit) bag. He acts as a translator for Ju who does not speak English. SUPPORTING. Shoots 1 or 2 days.

[KOLYA]. 20s to 60s. Male. Eastern European. Open to all physiques. Must speak a Slavic language fluently and be strong at improv. Has an edge, but charming at the same time. Kolya is a Slavic immigrant and spotter for the counterfeit bag ring. Drives a G-class car, so talent must have a valid driver’s license. Talent should be comfortable singing a few words of a song. SUPPORTING. Shoots 2 days.

[DAVID]. 20s to 50s. Male. Hispanic. Open to all physiques. Must speak Spanish fluently and be strong at improv. Has an edge, moody, a man of few words. David is an immigrant and spotter for the counterfeit bag ring. Talent should be comfortable singing a few words of a song. SUPPORTING. Shoots 1 or 2 days.
